If you’re a noodle fan, there’s a new spot worth checking out!
Younmi Rice Noodle (有米) just soft opened on March 23 at Continental Shopping Centre in Richmond, taking over the unit that previously housed Rice Cake Master.

The space has been completely transformed into a bright and welcoming shop with warm orange and green tones, plenty of seating, and a big “#Have A Rice Day :)” sign on the wall.
According to the description on their Instagram, ““有米” means Filling your tummy, Warming your heart, and bringing little joys that make life truly “Rich”.”
Photos of Vancouver, Richmond, and Hong Kong line the walls, giving the space a personal, community-driven feel.

The concept is straightforward Hong Kong style rice noodle.
You fill out an order form by ticking off your toppings and soup base, just like the classic noodle shops.

The regular price is $15.99 for a rice noodle bowl with two toppings, but for the soft opening the price drops to $11.99 for the same deal.
Each extra topping is $3.

There are five soup bases to choose from: superior broth, tomato broth, Hong Kong style spicy and numbing, Hong Kong style spicy and sour, and classic spicy and sour.
The topping list is deep.
Options include chicken, pork belly, fish ball, cuttlefish ball, HK style minced pork, luncheon meat, crab stick, ham, sausage, enoki mushroom, braised mushroom, radish, and more.
You can also choose your spice level on select broths from mild to moderate to hot.
The classic spicy and sour even has an option to add numbing.
On the side dish menu, there is a solid lineup of Hong Kong style small plates.
Cumin chicken wings go for $5 for three pieces or $7 for five.
Spicy and sour chicken feet are $9, deep fried siu mai with salt and pepper is $7, and century egg with chilli pepper is $8.
We went anonymously with a friend, who discovered the shop was open, and got the superior broth with fish ball and pork belly.
Our friend went with the tomato broth, which had ample tomato-y flavour without being overly sweet.

We were both impressed with the flavour of the broths, especially for the first day of service.
While we were there, the staff’s kids were hanging around, and other business owners from Continental stopped by to congratulate the team on opening.
If you have spent any time in Richmond’s food courts, you might recognize some of the staff.
We certainly did, and so did other customers. But we couldn’t put a finger on which stall they were from…
We all had a laugh about how small Richmond can feel sometimes.
