A Taiwanese Bubble Tea Shop on Robson Quietly Shuts Down After 18 Months

A Robson Street drink shop has quietly disappeared, and the news is only spreading now thanks to eagle-eyed locals posting online.

Lattea, the Taiwanese bubble drink shop that opened on Robson in October 2024, has shut down its location with no announcement on social media.

The closure was first flagged by Red Note users and several Noms Mag community members after signs for Chayan, the brand taking over the unit, started appearing on the storefront.

This makes the second Lattea location to close in Metro Vancouver in a matter of weeks.

Our recent report on the Burnaby closure followed the same pattern, with no goodbye post, no farewell announcement, and the address simply scrubbed off the brand’s Instagram profile.

The Robson address has now been quietly removed from Lattea’s Instagram bio as well, leaving only the Richmond location listed.

Lattea Robson opened in October 2024 in the unit previously occupied by Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea, the Taiwanese drink chain that had vacated the address.

The brand had only officially launched in BC two months earlier, in August 2024, with its Richmond flagship.

The Robson location followed quickly as the second outpost, with the brand riding the foot traffic on what has historically been one of the city’s most reliable strips for bubble drink chains.

The ride lasted roughly 18 months.

Lattea Robson joins recently closed Vancouver spots like Swiss Bakery UBC, Sedap Plus, and Fortune Lamb Dining.
