Another familiar Richmond hot pot spot is about to vanish from one of the city’s busiest malls.
Happy Lamb Hot Pot at Lansdowne Centre is closing on July 21, and we found out the way these things usually surface, from a pair of notices taped to the windows.

We spotted two announcements on the restaurant’s glass in late June, a store closure and relocation notice and a separate membership notice for existing customers.
The message is the same on both.
The Lansdowne location is closing on July 21, 2026 and relocating to a new address.
That new home is 8251 Alexandra Rd, the Richmond unit we wrote about back in April.
If that address rings a bell, it should.
We had spotted Happy Lamb Hot Pot and Grill signage going up on Alexandra Rd, in the space originally slated for the Seattle Korean BBQ chain Bellwether before it pulled out of the project.
At the time, it was unclear whether Happy Lamb would run both Richmond locations or move out of Lansdowne entirely.
Now we have the answer, and the mall location is the one being given up.

The second notice specifically mentions that “store upgrades and business development needs” are among the reasons for the closure of the Lansdowne outpost.
The move keeps Happy Lamb in Richmond, trading its Lansdowne spot for the Alexandra Road restaurant strip a short drive away.
That new spot is also set to be the only Happy Lamb in Metro Vancouver with a grill menu alongside the hot pot.
Judging by the renderings on the closure poster versus what the unit looks now…the Alexandra Rd building still looks a fair way from finished.
The closure notice even points members to other Vancouver locations in the meantime, a hint that there could be a gap before the Alexandra Rd spot is ready.
For current members, the notices spell out what happens to your money.

You can request a full refund of your actual top-up balance, not counting any bonus credits the store handed out, or you can keep the balance and use it once the new location opens.
It is also one more change at Lansdowne Centre, which has seen plenty of turnover lately, with food court stalls Katte and My Coffee closing while Freshly Squeezed, Roastory, and One Cafe move in, and Baskin-Robbins setting up across from T&T Supermarket.
