The wall teases char siu and the rest of the siu mei lineup that a lot of us grew up on.
For anyone new to it, siu mei is the Cantonese style of roast meats, the glossy ducks and slabs of pork belly you see hanging in shop windows all over Richmond.
Lansdowne has long been one of the few major Richmond food courts without a dedicated roast meat stall.
Meanwhile, Burnaby’s Crystal Mall has three!
Plenty of Asian food courts build their lunch rush around a BBQ meat counter, and Lansdowne is finally joining that club.
No opening date, pricing, or full menu has been shared yet.
A roast meat box over rice is the kind of quick, filling lunch that anchors a lot of Hong Kong style food courts, so it slots neatly into this one.
Roastory is not the only new face headed for this food court either.
Freshly Squeezed recently put up a coming soon banner at the former My Coffee unit, and One Cafe is still slated to open in the same food court.

Add it all up and Lansdowne Centre’s food court is clearly heating up.
Richmond food courts have quietly become some of the busiest casual dining rooms in the region, and Lansdowne is riding that same wave with bigger crowds turning up lately.
Roastory now joins a growing list of upcoming Richmond food spots like Dollar Boba, Dimsum Caddy, and Lao Lao.
