If you’ve been waiting for the sizzle of all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ, the wait is almost over!
Ontario’s popular Gyubee Japanese Grill has officially announced the opening date for their first BC location, right in the heart of Richmond.
The buzz around Gyubee has been building ever since our community member (@antfunni) first spotted the signage back in July.
After several months of renovations, Gyubee has shared on their social media that they will officially open their doors on October 21st.
This marks the brand’s first venture into British Columbia, taking over the short-lived DaTang BBQ spot along Ackroyd Road—sharing a plaza with the likes of Big Way Hot Pot and Price Smart.
And they’ll be keeping it casual with walk-ins only, open from 12 PM to 11 PM daily.
Known for its fusion approach, Gyubee blends Japanese and Korean BBQ flavours with an large menu featuring sushi, Nagoya-style chicken wings, takoyaki, Korean banchan, and their iconic crème brûlée—a mix that has made it a hit across its Ontario and Montreal locations.
The shared photos of the new Richmond spot show a sleek, modern interior that blends cultural elegance with a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Expect light wood booths, cushioned seating, and built-in table grills, with pendant lights adding a cozy glow.
The walls mix geometric patterns with traditional Japanese motifs, while the entrance makes a statement with dark tones and a bold, illuminated Gyubee logo.
Gyubee’s arrival is adding more excitement to Richmond’s Ackroyd Plaza’s already hot food scene, which has seen plenty of action with the opening of Big Way Hot Pot just steps away.
Mark your calendars and be ready to line up, as Gyubee is ready to bring their popular all-you-can-eat Japanese BBQ experience to Richmond!
