Vancouver finally knows exactly where its most hyped breakfast arrival is cracking open!
Back when we reported on the chain’s arrival in March, there was no announced address or area they would land in.
A Noms Mag community member spotted Eggslut, the cult Los Angeles egg sandwich brand, has wrapped a downtown storefront in its signature bright yellow, marking the unit right below Din Tai Fung as its first Vancouver home.
They are taking over the previous Neptune Chinese Kitchen unit, which shut down back in 2023.
The wrap reads “cracking vancouver, opening 2026” and points followers to a new @eggslutcanada Instagram account.
It is also already recruiting, with a QR code to apply and a line asking people to join the team, which usually means an opening is no longer that far off.
For anyone who has not run into the name, Eggslut started in 2011 as a food truck in Los Angeles.
Chef Alvin Cailan turned it into a phenomenon at Grand Central Market in Downtown LA, where the breakfast lineups stretched for hours.
The dish that built the reputation is The Slut, a coddled egg set over a smooth potato puree, served in a glass jar with slices of baguette for dipping.
From that one stall, the brand spread to Venice Beach, Las Vegas, Seattle, London, Tokyo, Kyoto, Perth, and Manchester.
The whole thing runs on a tight, egg-forward menu you can eat with one hand, which is how a single market stall grew into a name with a global following.
Canada is the newest chapter, and Toronto got the country’s first Eggslut earlier this Spring.
Vancouver is next in line, and for years the nearest option was the Seattle location on Capitol Hill, close enough to pull local foodies across the border for a sandwich.
The signage commits only to 2026, with no exact date attached yet.
Based on the build-out behind the windows and the hiring push out front, our best guess is a Fall opening, though that is not confirmed.
Eggslut joins a wave of upcoming Vancouver food spots, including Rosalia Osteria, Honest to Pete DT, and Doe Coffee Main.
