A Popular Taiyaki & Dessert Shop Just Announced Its Vancouver Flagship in Olympic Village

Two years ago, these two had zero experience in the food industry.

Now they are about to open store number three, and this one is the flagship.

Little Pisces, the taiyaki and soft serve shop that has been quietly building a loyal following out in Lougheed and Richmond, is FINALLY expanding into Vancouver proper.

The new location is going into Olympic Village, taking over the former Stega Eatery space at 1788 Columbia Street, right beside Nook.

“We’ve been wanting to enter Vancouver for a really long time,” co-owner Linda Dai told Noms Magazine.

“Opening in Vancouver was actually our initial goal for our first store. We’ve heard that Olympic Village doesn’t have many late-night dessert options, and the community there is growing quickly, so we thought it’d be a good location for us.”

Late-night dessert in Olympic Village.

That is a gap that has been wide open for a while.

Linda called this one the flagship.

It will be the biggest and most aesthetic store in their portfolio.

The larger space means they can host events and pop-ups, and she hinted at a few other things she is keeping under wraps for now.

The menu will be expanded, and yes, it will stay open late.

For anyone who has not been paying attention, Little Pisces was founded by Linda Dai and Jacky Tian, two high school friends who quit their corporate jobs to start this thing.

They kicked off with pop-ups before opening their first permanent spot in Lougheed in June 2024.

The Richmond location on Alexandra Road followed in 2025.

The shop is known for its mochi-battered taiyaki, the Japanese fish-shaped cakes that come crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Fillings include red bean, Nutella, ube, and custard, and the taiyaki can be paired with soft serve in flavours like matcha, mango sorbet, and yakult.

Pop-up to three stores in two years with zero prior experience.

That is WILD.

“Pretty surreal,” Linda said.

“Just chugging along. And honestly just really lucky that we’ve been able to grow at this pace and still have good business momentum.”

The Olympic Village location is expected to open in early summer 2026. No exact date has been set yet.

Little Pisces Olympic Village joins other upcoming food spots in Vancouver, including Namba Curry, Lee’s Donuts Langara, and Coasters Coffee.
