There’s another quiet closure in Downtown Vancouver.

A Noms Mag community member (yumchah) spotted the Raclette Steak sign that was previously on Robson Street is now something else.

The halal raclette cheesesteak spot is also now listed as permanently closed on Google.

There was no closure announcement on its website or Instagram.

Going by its most recent Google reviews, it looks to have shut down in early October.

A new kebab shop is going to be replacing the cheesesteak spot.

Raclette Steak opened back in May, taking over the empty Meet Fresh unit.

That Taiwanese dessert chain ran on this stretch of Robson for eight years before closing the location in March 2025.

When we spotted the Raclette Steaks awning go up in late November 2025, the old interior had been gutted and the IG page was still empty.

The draw was the cheese.

The kitchen took a giant half-wheel of raclette, heated the cut side until it went soft and bubbly, then scraped the melted cheese straight onto your food at the table.

Its signature Swiss Raclette Steak piled that cheese over thinly sliced AAA beef with grilled onions, bell peppers and a house cheese sauce on house-made bread for $19.99.

The rest of the menu ran from Philly cheesesteaks and a gochujang steak sandwich to smash burgers, all served with fries, and everything was halal.

Now the unit is changing hands again.

The kebab spot moving in is Kebab Bey, whose signs are already up on the awning and over the door, though it hasn’t opened yet.

Raclette Steaks joins other recent Vancouver closures like Tocador, Bayside Lounge and theVenti.
