Kerrisdale’s shuttered Chatime unit has a new tenant lined up, and it is one Vancouver locals have already been getting friendly with on the other side of town.
A Noms Mag community member (sandy) recently spotted Oakberry signage going up at the former Chatime unit in the heart of Kerrisdale.

If you remember, this specific Chatime got booted out in November 2025 for missing $63,664.26 in rent, taxes, and legal fees.
Oakberry adds another Vancouver address to a name that has been quietly stacking Metro Vancouver openings, most recently with its Metrotown location.
The brand is one of the largest açaí bowl chains in the world.
Founded in São Paulo in 2016, the chain has scaled to hundreds of locations across more than 35 countries, with a particularly aggressive recent expansion across North America.
Their core offering is the açaí bowl, served in a few sizes and built to order with toppings like granola, fresh fruit, peanut butter, coconut, and honey.

The menu also runs to açaí cups and smoothies for the grab and go crowd, though the bowl is what regulars line up for.
Kerrisdale is a logical next move for the chain.
The neighbourhood has lost a few drink and dessert spots in the past year, Hey I’m Yogost and Chatime to be exact.
Slotting an Oakberry into that vacancy hits the same dessert and drink crowd Chatime used to pull, just with a fresher and more health leaning framing.
The exact opening date for Oakberry Kerrisdale has not been publicly announced yet.
Oakberry Kerrisdale joins a growing list of upcoming food spots in Vancouver, including Ramen Danbo Main, Coco Langara, and Angus T West End.
