Your next bowl of ramen on Main Street now has an exact date attached.
Ramen Danbo has officially announced that its new Main Street location will soft open on July 15, with the grand opening following on July 23 at 11 a.m.
The chain broke the news on Canada Day via their Instagram with a simple “Thank you for waiting!”
“Come by and enjoy a bowl with us, we can’t wait to see you all,” the team added in the announcement.
The soft opening runs from July 15 to 21, with the shop serving from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The full grand opening then lands on July 23, starting at 11 a.m.
We first reported on this location back in May, when we spotted Danbo’s signage up at 3982 Main Street.
The unit sits at Main and East 24th, right beside the recently opened Jo’s Italian and the upcoming TURF.
For the unfamiliar, Danbo started in Fukuoka in 2000 and built its name on Hakata-style tonkotsu.
The system leans hard into customization, letting you pick your noodle thickness, noodle firmness, broth thickness, and broth richness before the bowl is built.

The result is a cloudy pork bone broth simmered for long hours, heavy enough to coat the noodles on the way up, with a milky pork weight that lingers between bites.
The brand has since grown well beyond Japan, with shops across Vancouver, Seattle, and New York.
Its Kitsilano shop was the chain’s very first Canadian location when it opened back in spring 2015, and Robson Street and Kerrisdale followed.
Main Street will be Danbo’s fourth Vancouver shop and its fifth in Metro Vancouver.
The Danbo team shared with Noms Magazine that this outpost is roughly the same size and number of seating as their other Vancouver outposts.
But there’s one main difference here.
“It will recreate the style and atmosphere of a traditional Danbo ramen shop in Japan, with only counter seating,” shared the Danbo team.

So that is one interesting change they have decided to do with this Main Street location.
Most Vancouverite know that every Danbo location pulls a line out the door, so it is safe to expect the same scene here once the doors open.
The timing also lands well for the neighbourhood.
Main Street just lost a ramen option days ago, with AFURI closing its Mount Pleasant shop on June 28 after roughly six years in the city.
That exit left a gap for ramen fans along the corridor, and this stretch of Main had few ramen options to begin with.
Now one of the city’s top ramen spots is readying to open their doors.
Ramen Danbo Main Street joins other upcoming Vancouver food spots like Eggslut on Alberni Street, Rosalia Osteria in Yaletown, and Honest to Pete downtown.
