A breakfast-and-tapas cafe has soft opened on Robson Street in the West End, and it’s pushing a $9.99 breakfast.

Yoona’s Cafe & Tapas soft opened on September 18 at 1471 Robson Street.

Breakfast runs daily from 8am to 1pm, and the tapas and dinner menu takes over from 1pm, according to its website.

The $9.99 plate is two eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns, and it’s part of a run of deals the cafe is posting on Instagram that also covers beer, tapas, shots and coffee.

The unit was Kuro Katsu, which opened in October 2025 as Vancouver’s first dedicated gyukatsu restaurant, with diners finishing rare beef cutlets on tabletop grills.

When we reported its closure in August, it had lasted 10 months, and the windows were papered over for construction.

The mornings are straight diner territory: scramblers, omelettes, pancakes, Belgian waffles and a set of benedicts that includes a Nashville hot chicken version and one called the Canucks Ham & Cheese.

After 1pm, Korean-style pork mandu and aburi salmon nigiri share the tapas list with a Bombay calamari made with curry leaves and yuzu aioli, while the mains include Delhi butter chicken and a 10oz New York strip.

There’s also a section called La Pasta Corner, with carbonara and a seafood rosé linguine.

The team’s soft-opening photo shows a bar with rows of wine glasses on open shelves above a dark marble counter, and cocktails are on the list alongside beer and wine.

Yoona’s joins other recent Vancouver openings like Läderach, CoCo Bubble Tea and TurF.
