A seafood and oyster bar on Denman Street is closing on October 30, after serving English Bay since 2017.
Hook Restaurant announced the news on Instagram.
“After 10 amazing years, Hook Restaurant would like to publicly say goodbye,” the post reads.
“It has been an honour to have served this beachside corner for all these years and become apart of an irreplaceable community.”
The team signed off with “We will never forget you, so I hope you never forget us,” and set the final day of business for October 30.
The post doesn’t say why it’s closing.
Hook sits at 1210 Denman Street, just steps from the beach, and it pitched itself as a coastal room with an oyster bar, sustainably sourced seafood and a dog-friendly patio facing the sunset.
The menu leaned West Coast with a few detours.
There were white wine mussels and clams with toasted focaccia, crab cakes, salmon and clam chowder, and tempura-battered fish and chips.

The team called its saganaki prawns, simmered in an ouzo arrabbiata with feta, one of its most popular appetizers.
The beach side spot also has some of the best fish and chips in the city.
For a big night, the seafood tower ($150) stacked oysters, crab claws, prawns, tuna tartare and salmon crudo.
The comments filled up fast with crying emojis, and one regular called it “literally the best menu.”
Hook isn’t the only English Bay spot saying goodbye in October.

Right across the street, Bayside Lounge, the upstairs cocktail lounge, announced earlier in October that it will close at the end of the month after 47 years.
That’s two sunset views off the corner of Denman and Davie within a few days of each other.
The website lists Hook as open from 2pm daily, so there are still about a week and a half of patio nights to get one last plate of mussels in.
Hook joins other recent Vancouver closures like Daeji on Dunsmuir Street, MYST Asian Bistro in Kerrisdale and Raclette Steaks on Robson Street.
