When it comes to changes in the food scene – Richmond is a city that keeps on giving!
We (and a lot of our community members) have spotted something new coming to Richmond!
After popping up in Downtown Vancouver earlier this summer, the globally renowned Japanese coffee chain, % Arabica, is now set to bring its signature minimalist vibes and exceptional brews to one of the city’s busiest malls.
Taking over the previous Starbucks unit near the escalators leading up to the food court, this new CF Richmond Centre outpost is bound to catch the eye of anyone passing through.
% Arabica, founded in 2013 by Kenneth Shoji, is famous worldwide for its sleek, modern design and dedication to high-quality coffee.
With locations in 24 countries, the brand has built a loyal following, and its mission is simple: to let people “See the World Through Coffee.”
Their Whistler Village location, which opened in July 2024, marked the brand’s first BC store, and now the Richmond Centre location will be its first permanent storefront in Metro Vancouver.
While the space is still being worked on, it’s unclear if it will fully replicate % Arabica’s style seen from its Toronto stores, given the unit’s smaller footprint.
But no doubt you can expect the same clean lines, glowing % Arabica logo, and a streamlined, minimalist vibe.
On the menu, you’ll likely find the espresso-based drinks that % Arabica is known for, including the fan-favourite Kyoto Latte, Spanish Latte, and Maple Latte, available hot or iced.
Matcha lattes and sparkling lemonades are also expected to make an appearance for those seeking something a little different.
The Richmond Centre spot will likely be a high-traffic hub, given its prime location near the food court escalators and proximity to other popular stores.
It’s taking over a unit once occupied by Starbucks, which is in the process of relocating nearby the newly opened Miniso.
% Arabica fans will soon be able to get their fix without needing to go to Whistler!
The global coffee shop brand will be joining other highly anticipated food spots opening soon in Richmond like Uncle Tetsu and Gyubee.
