Back in December 2023, we were the first to discover the signage for Vancouver’s first Paris Baguette.
After some time, the Korean-French bakery café chain announced plans for significant expansion across Canada.
The chain hinted that multiple locations were in the pipeline for Vancouver, including one in Coquitlam.
One of our community members (@raincouvereatery) spotted signage for Paris Baguette on the ground floor of the new SOCO by Anthem building beside H Mart on North Road.
Right next to the bakery café will be Sushi Mura’s sixth outpost in Metro Vancouver.
Founded in 1988 in South Korea, Paris Baguette aims to reestablish the neighborhood bakery café experience.
With over 4,000 stores worldwide and an ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 locations in North America by 2030, the brand is on a mission to become a cornerstone of local communities.
The Coquitlam location is expected to follow in the footsteps of its counterparts in Toronto and Calgary, which have already impressed with their blend of French-inspired design and Korean hospitality.
Customers can look forward to a large, self-serve display packed with freshly baked pastries, breads, and cakes.
An open kitchen will give patrons a glimpse into the artistry behind Paris Baguette’s creations, adding to the café’s welcoming atmosphere.
Signature items like the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake and mochi donuts are likely to be highlights, served in a café space that seamlessly blends modern design with subtle French architectural touches.
But with several popular bakeries and cafés already established in the North Road area—like Maison Mori, Standing Egg Cafe, and the offerings inside Hannam and H Mart—it will be interesting to see how Paris Baguette fares against the competition.
The Coquitlam outpost is slated to open in November 2024.
