Looks like the West End food scene might be in for another shuffle.
We’ve spotted Jingle Bao, the colourful soup dumpling spot on Denman Street, officially listed for sale.
If you haven’t been, Jingle Bao made a splash when it opened back in 2020, mostly thanks to its unique, handmade soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao).
They lean hard into their “30 years of experience” background.
Their menu boasts everything from classic pork XLB to a giant “Supersize” version, and even some seriously luxe options like Crab and a vibrant Lobster Colourful Soup-dumpling.
But the real eye-catcher?
The “Signature Magnificent Seven” – that rainbow platter of differently flavoured dumplings that definitely did the rounds on Instagram.
Beyond the bao, they also dish out other dim sum staples and some Asian fusion appetizers.
Now, the whole operation is on the market for $199,000.
According to the listing, the 1560 square foot space comes with 48 seats, a full commercial kitchen, and that all-important liquor license.
A new owner could either keep the Jingle Bao dream alive or swoop in with a totally new concept.
It’s always a bit of a bummer to see a spot go up for sale, especially one with such a distinct offering in the neighbourhood.
Will someone keep the rainbow dumplings coming, or is the West End destined for something completely different in this space?
