If you grew up in Richmond, there is a decent chance your first Ferrero Rocher bubble drink came from this place.
Bubble Queen Cafe has sadly announced that it is shutting down after 21 years.
The last day of business will be May 24, 2026.

The longtime dessert and drink spot at 8888 Odlin Crescent in Pacific Plaza posted the news on Instagram, asking regulars to stop by one more time before the doors close for good.
“After 21 wonderful years of serving our community, May 24, 2026 will be our final day of business,” the post read.
“We would love to see you one more time.”
I ACTUALLY remember getting their Ferrero Rocher and Malteser bubble slush back in high school.
Boxes of Lindt, Malteser, and Ferrero Rocher would line up the walls. This was before they did the renos.
It was one of those flavours that felt wild at the time, a chocolate hazelnut drink with tapioca pearls that had no business working as well as it did.
I could not handle that level of sweetness now, but back then it and the wild flavours were the thing.
They also carried mango smoothies, soft serve, and a full range of fruit-forward drinks.
The shop also previously had a Vancouver location on Oak Street, though that one closed earlier.

Twenty-one years is a RARE run for any food business in Richmond, let alone a dessert drink spot.
Most of the bubble shops that have opened in the last five years would be lucky to see three.
But sadly, it is the end of the road for this OG spot.
If you haven’t been in a while, give them a visit before they shut down at the end of the month.
Bubble Queen Cafe joins other recently closed food spots in Richmond, including Taikoo Yummy Foods, Grandma Liu Hot Pot, and Katte Lansdowne.
