Main Street just got a fresh pint of Irish cheer!

Fionn MacCool’s has opened its first Vancouver location near Main Street Skytrain Station.

The brand takes over the former Johnnie Fox’s space, a longtime neighbourhood hangout, and gives the address a new life.

This corner has stories.

Johnnie Fox’s quietly wrapped up in fall 2024 after years of pints and live tunes, and before that, it was Dubh Linn Gate.

Now, a new Irish pub banner lights up the unit again.

The Canadian‑born pub started in 1996 after its founder’s trip to Ireland, building a comfort‑first menu and a “craic”‑forward vibe across the country.

Today, the concept sits in the Foodtastic portfolio, and this Main Street outpost is the first in Vancouver.

Here, you can find the usual hits like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, burgers, wings, and shareables meant to park beside a pint.

Draught beer flows heavy on classics, and there’s a lineup of easygoing cocktails and zero‑proof options.

Hours run daily from 11 am, with late nights to midnight on weeknights and 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Inside, it’s a refreshed room with warm woods, a long tap‑studded bar, high‑top perches for groups, and booth seating for low‑key hangs.

The atmosphere reads casual and comfortable, kind of where you slide into after work and end up staying longer than planned.

A recognizable pub brand sliding into a storied corner is another sign of how Main Street keeps mixing old memories with new chapters.

Fionn joins other Vancouver openings, such as Fred’s Italian, Nizu Cafe, and Kojima Ramen.
