Fred’s Italian opened on October 27 at 1873 West 4th Avenue, taking over the former Romer’s Burger Bar space.
The West Vancouver pasta spot’s new Kitsilano flagship features wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, and a sleek two-tone bar where burger memorabilia once lived.

Born in West Vancouver’s Ambleside with a sibling location in Sechelt, Fred’s has quietly built a reputation for friendly service, handmade pasta, and wood-fired pies.
The new Kits outpost is the brand’s third, and its first in Vancouver, rounding out a small, polished family of neighbourhood restaurants.
Here, you’ll get crisp, blistered pizzas and fresh pastas that lean comforting and classic with options like Cacio e Pepe, Lamb Pappardelle, and Mushroom Tagliatelle.
Plus, you’ll find starters such as burrata with house focaccia and tuna crudo.
Their Mortadella pizza with pistachio and stracciatella is a menu highlight.

If you like a little graze-and-sip, Aperitivo Hour runs daily from 3–5 pm.
Inside, the former burger joint has been reimagined as a welcoming, contemporary Italian dining room filled with warm oak finishes, soft lighting, and a sleek two-tone bar.
There’s a comfortable mix of bar seating and cozy tables, making it inviting for both groups and solo diners.
The atmosphere leans more date night than a diner, but still easy for a casual pie-and-pasta catch-up.
This new addition joins other recently opened spots in Vancouver, such as Kuro Katsu, Nizu Cafe, and Jeon.
