Mount Pleasant is about to welcome a new dining destination!
And this one’s all about slowing down and savouring every bite.
Lucia, a modern Italian restaurant from the team behind Commercial Drive’s Harbour Oyster + Bar and Social YVR, is officially opening its doors on June 13, 2025.
The new restaurant takes over the short-lived Anthem Sound Lounge space, which only opened in November 2024 before quietly closing earlier this year.

Led by Vancouver-born chef Zachary Steele, Lucia blends traditional Italian cooking with a fresh West Coast perspective.
Steele’s experience spans some of the city’s most notable kitchens, including Dockside and Carlino, and his time studying Northern Italian cuisine, particularly from the Friuli region, informs much of the menu.
But at Lucia, you won’t just find textbook renditions.
Instead, the dishes pay homage to Italian roots while showcasing BC’s bounty.
You can expect plates like spinach and mascarpone tortelli, slow-braised meats, and lamb ribs finished with pistachios – refined yet comforting fare that balances technical skill with genuine warmth.
Lucia’s cocktail program also leans into that ethos, offering both classic Italian drinks like Negronis and creative spritz variations using local spirits and seasonal ingredients.
But Lucia is more than its food and drink.
It’s designed to be a place where “time slows down,” where second bottles of wine are encouraged, and where meals turn into memories.
With a layout and vibe meant to evoke relaxed European hospitality, it is a big change compared to the fun loud vibe of Harbour Oyster and Social YVR.
Lucia joins a growing list of upcoming new food spots in Vancouver like Sainam, Paragon Tea Room Cambie Village, and Halina East Van.
