Richmondโs food scene is constantly changing, with new spots popping up and old favourites sadly saying goodbye.
And weโve got another change to share.
Last month, we reported on the closure of independent bubble tea shop Pause nโ Sip after 2 years of operation.
Given its prime location right beside Aberdeen Canada Line Station, we figured it wouldnโt stay empty for longโand we half-expected another bubble tea shop to take over.
But surprise! Itโs not bubble tea at all.
Thanks to our Noms Mag community member (Hannah W), we now know that a brand-new Japanese spot called Zenbu Aburi is moving in.
Fresh sign decals were just spotted on the exterior windows of the former Richmond Pause nโ Sip unit.
(Note: the “Beverage & Happiness” was left from Pause N’ Sip)
While Zenbu Aburi doesnโt seem to have an online presence yet, the name makes their focus pretty clear.
โZenbuโ (ใใใถ) means โeverythingโ or โallโ in Japanese, which means the menu is likely dedicated to everything about aburi-style (flame seared) dishes.
Perhaps aburi donburi, aburi nigiri and rolls, or other flame-seared specialties?
And since the space is set up for dine-in, this could be an exciting new Japanese eatery for Richmond locals looking for a bite near the station.
Thereโs no official opening date yet, but weโll be keeping a close eye on this oneโbecause who doesnโt love a good aburi sushi fix?
