Looks like Olympic Village lost one of its sweet retreats.
Yandoux Patisserie, known for its beautiful French pastries and Asian-inspired high tea, has officially closed its original Vancouver location.
The shop announced the closure on Instagram back on February 28th, calling the move “bittersweet” but necessary for growth. They first opened their doors at this spot on November 23, 2017.
In their farewell message, the Yandoux team thanked Vancouver customers for years of support, saying, “Your support, kindness, and trust have meant everything to us.”
They framed the closure not as an ending, but as the next step in their journey, stating, “This move isn’t just about changing locations; it’s about embracing growth, dreaming even bigger, and creating more beautiful moments with all of you in our new home.”
Remember when we told you Yandoux had set up a permanent shop inside Richmond’s Versante Hotel after running pop-ups there?
Well, this move makes that transition official – they’re consolidating operations in Richmond.
For over six years, the Olympic Village location was a go-to for locals craving delicate pastries, macarons, and that signature high tea set featuring a mix of sweet and savoury bites, often with unique Asian flavour twists.
The vibe was always pretty elegant, a quiet spot perfect for catching up or treating yourself.
While it’s a bummer for Olympic Village regulars, fans can still get their Yandoux fix at the Versante Hotel location (6080 Minoru Blvd, Richmond).
And the Olympic Village space won’t stay empty for long.
Burnaby’s popular French bakery cafe, Mon Paris, is already prepping to move in, reportedly aiming for an opening later this April.
So, stay tuned for croissants potentially taking over the pastry case soon.
