Sad news for Richmond coffee lovers…
One of the most unique coffee havens in the city, Faebrew, recently announced it is closing up shop at the end of January.
Since its inception in 2016, Faebrew carved out a special niche in the hearts of locals and visitors.
For outsiders, it was known to offer the most expensive cups of coffee in Metro Vancouver, at $12 – $25 a pop.
But Faebrew was much more than that.
And it is clear from the comments on their Instagram and online reviews (4.6 stars) of the cafe that it was something special.
Faebrew, a name inspired by the whimsical world of faeries, signifying that each cup of coffee is a magical concoction.
The cafe’s $15 pour-over coffee is personally tailored by the owner Vincent Wong to reflect the customer’s mood of the day.
So if you’re feeling depressed, you’ll get a specific coffee to uplift your mood.
And if you’re feeling content, you’ll get another.
The intimate 10-seat bar setup fostered an ambiance reminiscent of a conversation with a knowledgeable bartender.
The artistic touch extended to the very cups from which you sip on.
With handles resembling fairy wings, each cup was a piece of locally crafted art, adding to the enchanting experience.
Vincent, known for his genuine and unfiltered interactions, ensured that a visit to Faebrew was more than just coffee—it was a story, a conversation, and a memorable experience.
On January 25th, an announcement was made on Faebrew’s official Instagram page.
Vincent revealed his decision to close the cafe to concentrate on his roastery venture, Tales Coffee.
This endeavor reflects his passion and more experimental side for coffee, providing a professional and convenient roasting service tailored for coffee shops.
As Faebrew prepares to turn the page on this chapter, patrons have the opportunity to own a piece of its legacy.
Select cups, embodying the magic and uniqueness of Faebrew, along with other merchandise, are available for purchase.
While the physical space of Faebrew may be closing, you’ll still be able to catch Vincent continuing to do some wacky experiments with coffee on his YouTube channel and Instagram page.
