On Dec. 31st, 2024, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced the recall of some familiar salt products you might have gathered in your kitchen.
If you’re a fan of cooking with President’s Choice Mediterranean Sea Salts or Himalayan Pink Rock Salts, keep reading—you’ll want to check your pantry!
The CFIA flagged these two salt products due to the presence of plastic pieces.
The affected Mediterranean Sea Salt (360 grams) and Himalayan Pink Rock Salt (390 grams) could have been purchased at Loblaw-owned stores like T&T, Shoppers Drug Mart, No Frills, Superstore, and more.
The recall is made for the entire country, not just in BC.
These products are part of a batch with best-before dates leading up to January 17, 2026.

If you have these recalled salts, it’s crucial to not use, sell, serve, or distribute them.
Instead, either return them to the store for a refund or throw them out.
