Richmond dessert lovers, it’s official—Uncle Tetsu is finally here!
After months of anticipation, the famous Japanese cheesecake brand has quietly soft-opened its first Richmond location at Aberdeen Centre.
We passed by late Sunday evening (Dec 22nd) and noticed the shop’s window coverings had been removed.
According to staff members tidying up, the store quietly opened on Saturday, Dec. 21st, giving Richmond locals their first chance to try these globally loved cheesecakes.
This is Uncle Tetsu’s first Richmond location, and it brings all the classics: the signature fluffy Japanese Cheesecake, honey madeleines, and rusk.
Known for its soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture, the Japanese Cheesecake has been a favourite since Uncle Tetsu’s BC debut in Burnaby back in 2018.
The space has the same open-concept kitchen where you can watch the cheesecakes being made right in front of you.
This opening breathes new life into that corner unit that’s seen a lot of turnover in recent years, marking a sweet start for Aberdeen Centre’s entrance area.
Richmond locals now have easy access to Uncle Tetsu’s famous cheesecakes without needing to head to Metrotown or downtown Vancouver.
