Richmond has been on a tear when it comes to new food spots.
And 2026 is already shaping up to be one of the busiest stretches the city has seen.
Here are all the new-ish food spots that have recently opened up:
1. Loon Fong Hotpot

The Toronto hot pot spot known for two hour lineups is now open in Richmond.
Loon Fong features retro 1980s Hong Kong decor, a speakeasy-style hidden entrance disguised as a Midland Realty office, and a signature Fish Maw Chicken Pot that comes with a whole chicken for $69.80.
This is the brand’s first location outside Ontario.

2. Miku Richmond

The Michelin-recommended Japanese restaurant has opened its second Metro Vancouver location inside River Rock Casino Resort.
The 4,900 square foot space seats 80 and features Miku’s signature Aburi Oshi Sushi.
Soft opening began February 17 with a grand opening planned for March.

3. Shawarma 2 Go

A family-run Mediterranean spot has opened its second location at the Richmond corner that was damaged when a Tesla crashed into it in 2023.
The space has been fully rebuilt with a new interior.
The menu features hand-cut shawarma, made-to-order falafel, and fusion items like Shawarma Nacho Fries and a Turkish-style Tombik pita.

4. Pho Capital

The longtime Coquitlam pho shop displaced by a strip mall explosion has reopened in Richmond.
The new space near the Richmond Olympic Oval is bigger and brighter than the original, with a menu covering over a dozen pho options, bun bo Hue, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls.

5. Mino Sushi Conveyor

Richmond now has conveyor belt sushi, and it is inside a children’s indoor playground.
Mino Sushi Conveyor operates out of Mino Club Cafe after the playground shuts down at 5 p.m. P
lates range from $2.80 to $5.80, and you can also order sashimi or request items via a miniature train that runs above the belt.

6. The Food Court

A new food court concept promising 24-hour dim sum, BBQ, and hot pot has soft opened on No. 3 Road.
For now, only dim sum is available at $4.99 per steamer, with hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The BBQ and hot pot stations and the full 24-hour schedule are expected to come later.

7. Nonbiri Cafe

A new matcha and hojicha cafe has opened inside a mini food hall directly across from Richmond Centre.
Nonbiri uses organic ceremonial grade matcha sourced from Kagoshima, Japan, and serves lattes, sodas, and savory-leaning danishes including matcha strawberry and BBQ pork.
The food hall also houses Pokey Okey and a gyudon spot.

8. Cotti Coffee

The world’s fourth largest coffee chain has opened at Lansdowne Centre, right next to T&T Supermarket.
Cotti was founded in 2022 by two former Luckin Coffee executives and has grown to over 13,000 locations across 28 countries.
Most drinks are priced under $5, with signature items like the Stardust Crema Latte and Orange Americano.

9. Savor Hill

A new Asian bakery specializing in meat floss cakes has opened on Alexandra Road.
The signature item is a softball-sized cake with savoury cream filling, coated in meat floss, available in flavours like seaweed, salted egg yolk, and Oreo chocolate.
