There is another food recall British Columbians should know about.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has just announced that Baekdu Peak brand Enoki Mushrooms are being pulled from shelves due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The recall was posted on November 17 after CFIA test results triggered an immediate warning.
No illnesses have been reported so far, but the agency says the product should not be consumed, sold, served, or distributed under any circumstances.
This recall involves Baekdu Peak brand Enoki Mushrooms distributed by Goldenway Import and Export Ltd. under recall notice RA-81232.

Food contaminated with Listeria does not look or smell spoiled, which is why the agency urges anyone who has purchased these mushrooms to check their fridge, throw them out, or return them to the retailer.
Listeria infection can cause serious symptoms including fever, vomiting, nausea, severe headaches, and muscle aches.
The risk is especially high for pregnant people, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
In severe cases, the infection can lead to premature delivery, newborn infection, or even death.
The CFIA is now conducting a wider food safety investigation that may lead to additional recalls.
Inspectors are also confirming that affected products are being fully removed from the marketplace.
If you believe you became sick after consuming the product, the CFIA advises contacting your healthcare provider.
This latest recall comes as Canada continues to see periodic warnings involving imported enoki mushrooms.
