Krause Berry Farms has everything farm-related that makes a great get-together for families with kids and big foodies. It’s the best place to find fresh country pies and handmade ice cream, with that sweet and eggy custard and farm berries sold out daily due to demand.

Going beyond the extensive range of produce, Krause Berry Farms is like a vintage, old-fashioned marketplace where people offer farm-made bread, heavenly fudge, and kettle corn like they always did back in the 50s. But the home-grown harvests and family-owned recipes themselves set Krause apart from its peers. Every day, you’ll see a long queue in front of the waffle bar waiting to get those handmade waffles piled high with farm berries and whipped cream.

A visit to Krause Berry Farms cannot go without a stop at the winery. This is a new add-in at Krause but the world soon called their name with notable awards and critical acclaim for their exceptional Canadian fruit wines. In 2014, their Blackberry Portoe and Sparkling Strawberry both received medals from the prestigious WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada.

The charm of a pick-your-own-fruit farm is how everything changes by season. Today you may be collecting some strawberries. But the next time you come, it’s gonna be pumpkin in the basket!

Before venturing out, take a look at the website to see what’s in season and their current prices. Small plastic baskets are available for sale at the little shack but you can carry your own basket and boxes.

If you come with a big group of friends and family, go ahead and rent out those small red wagons for easy transport. Once you’re there, the staff will send you to the fields where you can find everything in season and ripe.

You’ll be outdoors so come before 9 am to beat the heat if you don’t want to end up burning your back in the sun. The berries farm is open in summer. If you cannot make it in time, check out their online store or come over to the “Market” to pick up frozen fruits until December or dine at the “Porch” from January to May.
