If you’re like us and love to visit cozy, adorable coffee shops in your spare time, then youโll be thrilled to hear thereโs a new one that just opened in Vancouver!
(we first heard of the new spot from our friend @andychanmedia)
Toรฑa is a new independent family-run bakery, chocolatier, and coffee shop that soft-opened on Saturday, December 7th in the Dunbar neighbourhood.

This charming spot is the creation of Daniel Muรฑoz, a Venezuelan-born pastry chef with an impressive rรฉsumรฉ, having worked with top-tier local spots like BETA5 and Nemesis Coffee.
Over the past few years, Daniel has also made a name for himself with several successful pop-ups.
According to the barista during our visit, the name Toรฑa is short for Antonieta, Daniel’s motherโs middle name, representing just how personal this project is for him and his family.
The space, which formerly housed an ice cream shop, has been lovingly transformed into a cozy haven.
Though the cafe isnโt large, itโs been designed with an efficient layout that creates an inviting and warm atmosphere.
The interior features vibrant orange and blue accents, paired with natural wood tones and lush greenery.
The standout is a stepped seating area adorned with plush cushions, perfect for an intimate coffee chat or a quiet moment with a book.
Behind the counter, youโll find a glimpse of the bakery kitchen where all the pastries and chocolates are made in-house.
The food offerings include a mix of classic pastries like almond croissants, canelรฉs, and pain au chocolat, alongside unique treats that showcase Danielโs Latin American roots like the concha and cachito, a Venezuelan bun filled with ham.
When it comes to drinks, Toรฑa offers all the usual suspectsโespresso, americanos, lattes, matcha lattes, and chai lattes.
We were particularly excited to see a Spanish Latte on the menu, a good option for anyone with a sweet tooth.
At the time of our visit, they were using beans from Modus, but according to reporting by Scout Magazine, Toรฑa plans to rotate its coffee beans regularly.
The corner wall shelves are stocked with merch, coffee beans, chocolates, and confections for sale, adding a touch of retail therapy to your coffee run.
As a city thatโs recently seen an influx of new cafes (AVIK, Miion, Elysees), Toรฑa feels like a standout addition, bringing a blend of warmth, personal touches, and Latin American-inspired flavours to Vancouverโs coffee scene.
