Who Is Bánh Mì Très Bon?
Eating clean is Bánh Mì Très Bon’s vision, and quality is their focus. They have been serving nutritious Vietnamese food that they are proud of since 2016, all while using the best ingredients to get the flavour from the actual ingredient itself instead of taking shortcuts.
“What we’re feeding our children, what I’m feeding my family and my customers here is very important to me,” says Lan, the owner and chef behind Bánh Mì Très Bon.
“Why do you spend so much money taking care of your car – like maintaining it with premium gas – but not put quality food into your own body?”

Despite having no prior restaurant or culinary experience, Lan’s love for cooking led her to travel back to Ho Chi Minh city to learn from the top chefs in the country. She took notes while working in the corporate world and did extensive research and development before opening her first location in Richmond.
Lan spent about five years cultivating the recipe for their custom hand-rolled Banh Mi bread, ensuring that it captures the same taste as the bread she grew up eating in Vietnam. This attention to detail extends to all aspects of their menu, including their pho made with triple-A grass-fed beef.
At Bánh Mì Très Bon they serve phở authentic to what you would find in a Vietnamese home. Recreating phở in its truest form is a tedious experience; however, the end product is overwhelmingly satisfying and delicious. They cook their broth with two or three different types of bones simmered for 12-15 hours daily.
The Upcoming White Rock Bánh Mì Très Bon
When asked why White Rock was chosen as their next location, Operations Manager Wame Mosenene explains that it aligns perfectly with their vision.
The community aspect is what drives us and aligns with our vision. The White Rock demographic is diverse and family oriented. This really reflects the environment we created at our Richmond location, where we have seen some regulars progress in life from being engaged to starting a family.
We identified the same values in White Rock and realized we would feel at home there.

Bánh Mì Très Bon will use its Richmond location as a template for the upcoming White Rock outpost because they want guests at both locations to feel at home with similar warm colors and homely yet refined ambience.

With tentative plans set for May 1st opening date (if everything proceeds as planned), Bánh Mì Très Bon looks forward to welcoming White Rock residents and visitors into its cozy space soon!
