BC’s Largest Candy Shop Spotted Expanding In Downtown Vancouver Again

It looks like one of the city’s fastest-growing sugar empires is making yet another move.

If you have walked down Robson Street recently, you might have noticed that the unit formerly home to the cheeky Perverted Ice Cream is finally getting a new tenant.

We spotted new signage for Ricardo’s going up right beside the recently opened Aesop store (Robson & Thurlow), marking the brand’s latest expansion into the heart of downtown.

While Ricardo’s is known for its massive candy selections, this specific outpost seems to be taking a different direction due to the smaller footprint.

Peeking through the papered-up windows, we spotted renovations well underway, including a massive box clearly labelled “Dipping Cabinet” sitting in the middle of the construction zone.

This suggests the Robson location will likely focus heavily on scoops and dipping flavours, similar to their ice-cream-centric expansion on Granville earlier this year, but in a more grab-and-go format.

Ricardo’s has been on a serious roll lately.

The brand first launched in White Rock back in 2021 before crossing the bridge to open Ricardo’s Kandy Korner on Granville Street later that same year.

Just recently (early 2025), they doubled down on Granville with a second location featuring an insane lineup of 80 ice cream flavours and rolled gelato.

This new Robson shop will mark their third location in Downtown Vancouver alone.

There is no official opening date just yet, but judging by the progress inside, it looks slated for a Winter or Spring launch.

Ricardo’s joins a busy wave of new food spots hitting the city, including BBQ & Co., The Cozy Wok, and LOCAL Pizza.
