A familiar fixture in Kitsilano’s cafe scene has quietly disappeared, leaving longtime customers wondering whether it’s truly the end.
Jitters Caffe has been dark since early September.
At first, we spotted a sign on the door back in August that said they were only closing temporarily.
But weeks passed with no updates.
By mid-October, we passed by again and now the windows were fully covered up.

And Google now marks the business as permanently closed.
No posts on social media. No goodbye message. Just silence.

Jitters was the kind of place that made people feel at home.
It wasn’t fancy, but people loved the warm vibe, the friendly owner, and its creative energy.
Many regulars say it was one of the last old-school cozy, laptop-free hangouts on the street.
Over the years, customers praised their high-quality espresso, the artsy decor, and a playlist that helped people slow down for a minute.

Some loved the cozy, European bohemian vibe and how it brought real conversations to the table.
Jitters had been around since the 1990s, which is a long run for a small independent cafe in a neighbourhood that has changed a lot.
Jitters Caffe now joins other food spots in Vancouver that have had to let go of their spaces, including 404 Coffee Lab, Baroness Bubble Tea, and The Juice Truck Yaletown.
