The hot pot dominance in Metro Vancouver shows no signs of slowing down.
Big Way Hot Pot, the mega-popular self-serve malatang brand, has officially confirmed the opening details for its newest location.
They are taking over the unit at 115 West 2nd Avenue in Olympic Village.
Locals will recognize this as the former home of Bao Down OV, which quietly shut its doors earlier this summer.
According to their latest announcement post, the new spot is set to open its doors during the first week of December.
It will be their 13th location in Metro Vancouver, continuing an aggressive expansion that recently saw their largest store open at Burnaby’s Gilmore Place in September.
They also just expanded to Victoria back in October.
If you have visited their other spots, you know the drill.
The concept revolves around a massive wall of fresh 100+ ingredients, where you pick exactly what you want before choosing from a dozen different broths.
However, the Olympic Village opening comes with a specific perk that will likely cause a lineup.
To celebrate the launch, they are treating 100 guests to a complimentary hot pot feast.
This includes 50 of their “top-spending members” and 50 winners selected from their social media giveaway.
Those lucky guests will also get an exclusive sneak peek at a new menu item: Yuzu Flavor Ice Cream.
The opening adds even more density to the food scene in Mount Pleasant.
Big Way is joining a wave of new food spots coming to Vancouver, including No Bad Days Cafe, Kinton Ramen on Broadway and the massive Time Out Market at Oakridge Park.
The brand also shows no signs of stopping here.
They already have future locations slated for North Vancouver, Surrey, and Tsawwassen Mills.
