Big Way has officially come down on Mount Pleasant.
After weeks of anticipation, Big Way Hot Pot has quietly unlocked its doors in the Olympic Village area.
The popular chain has taken over the space that formerly housed Bao Down.
We stopped by (anonymously) during the soft opening this week to check out the new location.

If you work in the area, your lunch options just got a major upgrade.
The room has been completely transformed with the brand’s signature orange walls and industrial ceilings.
It features a mix of long communal tables and smaller booths, which were already packed with office teams during our visit.

As for the setup, it follows the familiar self-serve format locals know well.
You grab a golden bowl and load up from the massive refrigerated wall stocked with over 100 ingredients.
However, there is one sweet addition specific to this location.

We spotted a new Yuzu flavour in the soft serve machine, sitting right next to the cashier.
This will be their 13th location in Metro Vancouver, continuing an aggressive expansion that recently saw their largest store open at Burnaby’s Gilmore Place in September.
The brand also shows no signs of stopping here.
They already have future locations slated for North Vancouver, Surrey, and Tsawwassen Mills.
The Mount Pleasant outpost now joins other recently opened food spots in Vancouver like Peaked Pie on Broadway, Ostera, and the reopening of Pablo Cheese Tart.
