Hot pot fans in New Westminster, it is finally your time!
The hottest self-serve hot pot brand in Metro Vancouver, Big Way Hot Pot, has officially arrived!
We previously shared in August the exciting news about Big Way’s new spot at New Westminster SkyTrain Station.
And now it’s officially soft opening Tuesday, October 29th.
This new outpost, located in the space that used to house The Hub Restaurant (above Safeway), is their biggest yet.
It features over 5,200 square feet of space, with 110 indoor seats and a cozy 44-seat patio.
Yup, it is MASSIVE.
Fingers crossed it means the waitlist doesn’t hit 90 people like in Burnaby!
If you’re already familiar with the brand’s self-serve concept, then you’ll feel right at home.
But essentially you grab a bowl and then pick from over 100 fresh ingredients (seafood, veggies, and meat) to personalize your hot pot bowl.
Your pot is then weighed to determine the price. Then you pick from several broths and add a bubble tea drink if you’d wish.
This location marks Big Way’s continued rapid expansion across Metro Vancouver, and it’s pulling out all the stops for its New West debut.
To celebrate the soft opening, they’re launching a special custom boba drink called “Celebration Citrus Boba.”
This exclusive drink will be served in glasses for the first time and will be available only at the New Westminster location until the grand opening day, with a special $1 discount for those who try it.
But that’s not all—Big Way is also bringing back Sukiyaki, starting at the New West location before rolling it out to the rest of their spots in mid-November.
The interior of the New West Big Way combines a modern industrial vibe with cozy touches.
The front features open spaces, light wood tables, and oversized pendant lights for a casual, airy atmosphere.
Towards the back, black leather booths, warm brick walls, and ambient lighting create a more intimate vibe—perfect for dining with friends or family.
The design keeps much of the original Hub Restaurant’s industrial aesthetic, including the exposed brick walls and the square bar area.
Its convenient location next to the SkyTrain and just steps from Landmark Cinemas makes this new spot a prime destination, especially with their late-night hours—Big Way will be open until 2 AM, giving late-night hot pot lovers a new go-to spot.
The Big Way team also gave us some updates on their expansion plans.
Their Coquitlam location is now expected to open in December, while the UBC outpost has faced delays due to permit issues.
But that hasn’t slowed them down—the Big Way brand is continuing to grow, with plans for more locations.
