It looks like another major player in the bubble tea game is officially packing up its BC operations.
A Noms Magazine community member (alannnbu) spotted a closure notice on the doors of OneZo Tapioca’s West Broadway outpost, signalling the end of an era for the brand in the province.
According to the notice posted on the window, the shop is shutting down very soon.
The sign reads: “It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce our decision to close our beloved Broadway OneZo Tapioca location.”

The final day of operations is set for Thursday, January 15, 2026.
If you want one last taste (or just want a deal), they are clearing things out with a final promotion.
This closure hits harder than usual because this was the last standing OneZo location in British Columbia.

The brand’s Burnaby Kingsway location already shut its doors back in 2024 after a six-year run, leaving Broadway as the sole survivor until now.
Once the Broadway shop locks up on the 15th, the chain will have no physical presence left in the province.
For those who remember the hype, OneZo wasn’t just another boba shop.
They were pioneers, holding the title of the “World’s First” brand to make their tapioca balls fresh on-site.

Customers could watch staff roll out pearls by hand in open kitchens, and they were famous for wild flavours like cactus, taro, and strawberry pearls that you couldn’t get anywhere else.
OneZo joins a growing list of “OG” bubble tea chains that have exited or scaled back in BC recently, including Yifang, Baroness, and Machi Machi.
However, the bubble tea market isn’t exactly slowing down; it’s just rotating with newer brands.
While some leave, newcomers like Chahalo and YOTEA arrived last year, and the massive chain Molly Tea is set to open its first location later this quarter.
OneZo Broadway joins other notable recent closures in the city, including Restaurant Yugo, Rogue Kitchen & Wet Bar on Broadway, and Sulbing on Robson.
