Burnaby foodies, here’s some darn good news!
One of Vancouver’s most popular Vietnamese restaurants just announced they are expanding to Burnaby!
Bun Cha Ca Hoang Yen is most known for its #23 Bun Rieu (Special Crab Soup with Vermicelli) and #24 Bun Cha Ca Dac Biet (Special Fish Cake & Vermicelli in Soup).
You’ll see the restaurant FILLED with these two items!
For a decade, Bun Cha Ca Hoang Yen was a cozy, mom-and-pop shop on Victoria Drive.
It had that hole-in-the-wall aesthetics with tightly packed tables, chairs, and mirrors on the wall.
In May 2022, it moved down the street to a more spacious 3,000-square-foot modern venue, signaling its readiness for growth and an enhanced dining experience.
On January 29th, Bun Cha Ca Hoang Yen took to their official Instagram page to announce their first Burnaby outpost.
The post shared the family’s enthusiasm and gratitude for over a decade of support from the Victoria Drive community and expressed eagerness to embark on this new chapter in Burnaby.
The family behind Bun Cha Ca Hoang Yen has shared with Noms Magazine that the Burnaby outpost is nearing completion, with an opening anticipated in February sometime.
Following their current location, the new space promises a modern interior, ensuring a contemporary and inviting ambiance for diners.
You also can expect a menu mirroring that of the Victoria Drive branch, maintaining the flavours and dishes.
Lastly, they informed us that will be located across from Metrotown Centre and will take over the space previously occupied by Daeji Korean Cuisine.
The arrival of a beloved Vancouver staple is set to continue to make the Metrotown neighbourhood a hot spot for great food!
