Looks like Burnaby foodies have found their new go-to for endless skewers and hot pot.
After teasing their return since 2023, The Meat Up has officially soft opened its new Burnaby location along Kingsway – right where the old O2 Metrotown condo presentation centre used to be.
And let us tell you: itโs a serious glow-up.
If youโve been to their Richmond outpost, this oneโs way sleeker.
Thereโs no more neon signs dangling from the ceiling – instead, the space leans into a clean, modern aesthetic with polished concrete floors, wood finishes, and soft neutral tones.
The large windows pull in that sunshine, and greenery is scattered throughout the space, giving it a fresh, inviting vibe.
Thereโs even an open kitchen where you can watch skewers being grilled right in front of you.
Itโs a skewer-loverโs dream.
The concept is still the same: all-you-can-eat Beijing-style BBQ skewers and Malatang hot pot, with a self-serve cold bar, snack bar, and dessert section to round things out.
The Burnaby spot comes with three AYCE tiers to match your appetite (and wallet):
Classic Tier ($35.99) – Skewers only, with a lineup of beef, lamb, seafood, and veggies grilled nonstop and delivered right to your table.
Gold Tier ($48.99) – Includes the above plus access to their Malatang hot pot wall – 80 ingredients, dozen soup bases, and total freedom to customize.
Diamond Tier ($58.99) – For the extra hungry (or extra bougie), you get all of the above plus premium seafood like lobster tail, scallops, and grilled beef tongue.
And yes, dessert is included.
For lunch, you can also just opt for the malatang hot pot, which is $24.99 on weekdays.
Do expect a waitlist at peak times.
The Burnaby location marks a fresh chapter for the Chinese BBQ chain, which started in Beijing back in 2005 before landing in Vancouver in 2018.
