It looks like another Burnaby spot on Kingsway is up for sale.
Burnaby’s Roadside Spicy Pot, known for its vibrant, nostalgic interior and street-style Chengdu hot pot experience, has been listed for sale.
Opened back in early 2020, this spot quickly became a standout thanks to its unique interior and Chuan Chuan offering, a Sichuan style of hot pot where ingredients are served on skewers and dipped into boiling broth.
Not only does it make the eating experience more interactive, but the skewers soak up more flavour, bite after bite.
The inside of the restaurant was just as memorable as the food.
Murals and street-style decor recreated the energy of 70s and 80s Chengdu, transporting guests to another place entirely.
Combined with individual table ventilation and spicy, craveable broths, it became a go-to for locals wanting a more casual and nostalgic hot pot fix.
As competition in the hot pot world has heated up, Roadside Spicy Pot also adapted, rolling out AYCE (all-you-can-eat) offerings to stay competitive.
According to the $298,000 listing, the restaurant includes a 2,252 sq. ft. space, fully equipped commercial kitchen, long exhaust hood, liquor license (valid until 11PM), and on-site parking.
It’s described as a versatile opportunity, ideal for continuing the same concept or launching something new.
The listing touts the prime location along Kingsway, one of Burnaby’s busiest thoroughfares, surrounded by new residential towers and high foot traffic.
It’s a stretch that’s seen its fair share of turnover recently, including the quiet closure of Sushi Bay Oyster Bar and SOJU just a few blocks down.
While it’s not clear if Roadside Spicy Pot is closing just yet or simply looking for the right buyer, the listing suggests a major change could be on the horizon for the space.
