Vancouverโ€™s coffee scene just got a little more purple.

Back in August, we reported that South Korean coffee chain, theVenti, was setting up shop in Downtown Vancouver.

And as of September 5, the doors are officially open.

They take over the former Hey I Am Yogost space that quietly closed earlier this summer.

For those catching up, theVenti first launched in Busan in 2014 with a straightforward mission: serve solid coffee at prices that donโ€™t hurt your wallet.

The model proved to be a hit.

Fast forward a decade, and the brand has grown to roughly 1,300 locations across South Korea, making it one of the countryโ€™s biggest names in grab-and-go coffee.

This year marked their first international expansion, with a Richmond outpost opening in March, followed by a second shop in Coquitlam this spring.

Downtown Vancouver is now their third Canadian location and their first in the city itself.

The brand has built its reputation on oversized drinks and affordability, with iced lattes, Americanos, and fruit-based drinks typically priced around $4.

The menu also leans into uniquely Korean offerings such as the nutty Misugaru latte or the roasted Yulmu latte, alongside ice-blended creations that blur the line between coffee and dessert.

Inside the new downtown shop, the look is consistent with their other locations: bright white interiors accented with splashes of theVentiโ€™s signature purple.

Two self-ordering kiosks greet customers at the door, keeping service quick and efficient.

Seating remains minimal, reinforcing the chainโ€™s grab-and-go approach.

While collaborations with celebrities like Big Bangโ€™s G-Dragon have kept the brand buzzing in Korea, the Canadian shops have stuck to the basics, focusing on portion size and price point to stand out in a crowded market.

theVentiโ€™s arrival downtown now puts them in the middle of a caffeine-heavy stretch.

But with their cheap-and-big approach, they might just carve out a niche for themselves among students, office workers, and anyone hunting for a budget-friendly jolt.

They also join the wave of new food and drink spots recently opening in the city, including Jeon, Ellipsis, and Rollz Vancouver.
