Family-Owned Coquitlam Korean Snack & Dumpling Spot Quietly Closes After 6 Years

This news will sting for fans of authentic Korean dumplings and comfort food…

Myung Ga Mandu, the beloved gem in Coquitlam’s Hanin Village (across from H Mart), has quietly shut down.

We discovered the closure after learning that a new popular street food chain is taking over the unit.

Since opening in 2018, this family-owned, hole-in-the-wall spot became a go-to for a comforting spread of Korean snacks.

Their menu featured handmade mandu (pork, kimchi, fried, or spicy mix), soondae, topokki, mini kimbap, dumpling soup, and various noodle dishes like spicy chewy noodles and bbim noodles.

The spot’s authenticity and cozy vibes made it a local fave for those craving a quick yet satisfying Korean food fix.

Interestingly, Myung Ga Mandu is linked to Nadri and Kang’s Kitchen – both just steps away.

This closure seems very recent, with the latest Google review posted just last week.

But like Richmond, the Lougheed North Road area is going through constant transformation and growth.

Just last month, popular French-inspired bakery cafe chain Paris Baguette opened along North Road.

For now, we say farewell to this neighbourhood staple that made Coquitlam’s Hanin Village a little cozier with each bite of dumplings.
