New Cafe Bistro ‘Day Plus’ To Open Up In West End Neighbourhood

Last month, we discovered that two out of the three Korean-style hot dog shops in the West End have closed.

Chung Chun has emerged as the victor in the battle for the Korean-style hot dog market.

We have discovered the new occupant for one of the vacant units!

During our patrol around the West End, we noticed that a new café, Day Plus Cafe Bistro, is taking over the space formerly occupied by Juicy & 88 Hot Dog.

Juicy & 88 Hot Dog, a South Korean smoothie bar and snack spot, made its debut in Canada in March 2023.

Renowned for its 800 stores across South Korea, Juicy 88 offered a variety of Korean-style corndogs, rice cakes, fresh fruit juices, and smoothies.

However, the Robson Street location of Juicy & 88 Hot Dog was listed as Permanently Closed on Google, and there has been no activity on their social media since November 2023.

Limited information is available about the upcoming Day Plus Cafe & Bistro.

Searches on Google and Instagram yielded no results. This potentially indicates that it is a brand-new independent venture, not part of a chain.

The establishment’s signage suggests a menu that will include offerings such as bagels, coffee, and various bistro items.

The Robson West End neighbourhood has experienced significant turnover recently, with new establishments like Nom Nom Seoul and Sweet7 making their entrance.

Other upcoming spots like Mi Terra Latina and a pizza shop is also spotted to arrive in the area.

To carve out its niche in this bustling area, already populated with numerous coffee shops, snack bars, and restaurants, Day Plus Cafe & Bistro will need to present a unique proposition to attract and retain customers.

Once we know more information about Day Plus, we’ll let you know!
