Foodies of Vancouver, get ready for an epic burger collaboration!
Doug Stephen of Downlow Burgers and Justin Cheung of Street Hawker have teamed up to craft the DL Hawker Royale.
This burger features two wagyu smash patties kissed with charcoal tallow, house-made salted egg yolk cheese, DL fried chicken skin, sliced heirloom tomato, shreddice, and Hawker sauce.
It’s a fusion of fresh vegetables, Southeast Asian flavours, and the satisfying crunch of fried chicken skin.
If you feeling fancy, you can even add some Alaska Salmon Caviar to the burger.
Doug Stephen, co-owner of DL Chicken, Downlow Burgers, Vennie’s Sub Shop, and The Drive Canteen, says, “Justin and his team are doing awesome things up at Street Hawker, and we thought it would be fun to collaborate and create a crazy good burger together.”
In addition to the special burger, guests can also indulge in the Fries Royale.
These truffle-dusted crispy crinkle potatoes with truffle sauce are the perfect sidekick to the DL Hawker Royale.
Priced at $8.95, they’re a must-try!
Street Hawker, known for its Southeast Asian-inspired burgers and fries, has been a hit in Mount Pleasant. Their menu includes burgers, sandos, sides, and hand-spun milkshakes with flavours like ube, mango, and malted chocolate.
Downlow Burgers, located inside The American, is famous for its crave-worthy burgers and fried chicken sandos. They use high-quality, fresh, and local ingredients, including a special dry-aged beef blend from Two Rivers Meats. You can get their burgers as single, double, or triple patties.
The DL Hawker Royale will be priced at $19.95.

From June 14 to 23, 2024, you can try the DL Hawker Royale at Street Hawker. Then, from June 28 to July 8, 2024, head over to Downlow Burgers for the same treat.
