Downtown Vancouver Pizza Shop Gets Lease Terminated For Missing $115K In Rent

It looks like there is yet another shake-up on Robson Street, after the recent departure of The Halal Guys.

When we walked down Robson Street earlier this week, the police-themed Persian pizza spot, 911 Pizza, we noticed inside it was oddly cleared out.

Peaking through the closed doors’ windows, we saw a notice of termination posted on the wall beside the counter.

Thanks to our phone’s 10x zoom, we were able to capture the notice below that is dated August 19, 2025.

911 Pizza, a police-themed Persian pizza restaurant, opened last November and became known for its $9.11 pizzas and sandwiches with names like Pizza Chief and Sheriff Pizza.

It took over the space after Toranj, a Persian sandwich shop, shut down after just a year.

The notice, dated August 19, says the landlord has terminated the lease effective immediately because the tenant defaulted on rent and other charges totaling more than $115,000 as of August 8.

That figure covers arrears โ€œdating to on or around June 19, 2023,โ€ when the original lease began with Toranj.

In May 2025, the lease was officially transferred to the company operating 911 Pizza.

By accepting that assignment, the new operators also took on the obligations of the lease.

Whatโ€™s not clear is how much of the $115,000 was carried over from the previous tenant and how much was missed since 911 Pizza took over.

On August 3, the restaurant posted on Instagram that it was temporarily closed, and its Google listing was also marked the same.

Now it appears that closure is permanent.

911 Pizza now joins other Robson Street restaurants that lost their leases this year, including Tiko Pizza, Archer, and Gastronomy.
