Another highly acclaimed Vancouver restaurant has suddenly shut its doors.
Archer, the Downtown Vancouver restaurant known for its elevated Pacific Northwest cuisine and Michelin Guide recognition, announced on May 29 via Instagram that it has permanently closed.
The news came as a shock, with no prior hints or signs leading up to the announcement.
Here’s what they shared:
“After two and a half incredible years on Alberni Street and the honour of being recognized twice by the Michelin Guide, we are heartbroken to share that Archer has closed its doors.
While this chapter has come to an end, we see it not as a goodbye, but as a pause as we thoughtfully consider what’s next. We are deeply grateful to our team, our guests, and the Vancouver community for embracing Archer and helping us create something truly special.”
Opened in 2022, Archer transformed the former Pink Elephant Thai space on Alberni Street into a stunning, upscale restaurant, defined by sleek interiors and a menu that celebrated the bounty of the Pacific Northwest with a modern twist.
In its short life, Archer carved out a reputation for excellence, earning back-to-back nods from the Michelin Guide in 2023 and 2024.
Archer now joins the growing list of recent closures in the Vancouver, including Sea House Fish & Chips, Pizzeria Farina, Sumo Grill, and Tiko Pizza.
While the team hints this isn’t a full goodbye, only time will tell what’s next for Archer’s talented crew.
