Lately, several food joints have quietly shuttered their doors without any announcements aside from a sign on the door.
Simit Bakery and Claypot Hot Pot are the most recent to do so.
Well today, we share another similar closure.
A Noms Magazine community member (yum chah) spotted Paramount Fine Foods on Robson Street covered up and with a farewell message pasted on its door.
The message thanks customers for their gratitude and loyalty over the past 7+ years, stating that the closure is the “right step for them at this time.”
Paramount Fine Foods is a beloved local Middle Eastern chain with over 40 locations globally – including Edmonton and Toronto.
They aimed to bring the love of Lebanon to the rest of the world, changing perceptions about Middle Eastern culture and cuisine.
The restaurant shared authentic Middle Eastern recipes using the freshest and finest ingredients passed down through generations.
Tawouk and Kafta were the stars of the menu, alongside their authentic hummus.
Despite the closure of this BC outpost, the team appears to be working on something new.
The farewell message hints that a new restaurant is coming soon to take over the current space.
Since the chain also owns other concepts like a Lebanese Kitchen, it might be swapping to one of these.
Only time will tell.
