One of East Vancouverโs OG bubble tea joints has packed up and moved to a new neighbourhood.
Green Leaf Bubble Tea, the family-run shop that held down Fraser Street for 14 years, is relocating to Commercial Drive.
A Noms Mag community member (@itsclarissawong) first spotted the sign, and the owners confirmed the news on their Google Business page.

โGreen Leaf Bubble Tea has relocated to 2586 Commercial Drive from 5756 Fraser Street. Thank you to all our loyal customers in the last 14 years at our old location. We can’t wait to serve and offer you our original bubble teas as well as some new items adding to our menu.โ
The Fraser Street spot, right across from John Oliver Secondary, was a hole-in-the-wall favourite for anyone who grew up in the area.
Known for its old school-style bubble teas, slushes, and juices, Green Leaf was the place to grab a taro slush, cheesecake, or even a green tea ice cream bbt.
With nearly 100 flavours to choose from, it was the kind of shop that felt like a teenage rite of passage.
People who remember Dragon Ball or frequented Milk & Sugar Cafe knows the vibe of these OG bbt shops.
The new Commercial Drive location takes over the former Jamilaโs Afghan Cuisine unit, just two blocks from the Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain Station and on the same block as McDonaldโs.
It is unsure what exactly is the reason for the relocation, but if we had to guess – it’s likely related to building redevelopment or a lease hike.
While the menu will still feature their signature bubble teas, the owners also teased that a few new items will be added.
