Located in Hastings-Sunrise, Kook Korean BBQ Restaurant is known for their obsession for Korean BBQ.

This upscale restaurant boasts modern decor and is very spacious; it almost feels like a high-end bar.

The services are great and they even have a service bell at each table. You know the place is great when it is hard to get a reservation. In fact, Kook Korean even earned a mention in our best Korean Restaurants in Vancouver!

This restaurant serves fifteen different types of Banchans and I’m not even kidding! Trust me, your dining table is going to look like a painting palette because of all the colourful Banchans.

The Combination B is the best option for a four-person group. It has pork, beef, and chicken that will fill your stomach to the brim!

Don’t forget to try the Wooseol(Beef Tongue), Gamjatang, and Beef Bulgogi. These are absolute must-orders for Korean BBQ enthusiasts.

2. Sura Richmond

Unlike Sura’s West End location, the Richmond Aberdeen Centre outpost has a variety of Korean BBQ options.

But like their downtown spot, expect it to be filled during prime time as they have the same high-quality standards. Definitely, one of the top restaurants in Richmond to eat at!

For BBQ, you’ll find their menu has various combos for different sizes of parties or individual orders.

If you’re confused what to get, their Beef Tongue and the Royal Pork Galbi are game-changing. The Beef Tongue has a distinct flavour that’s different from other cuts of meat.

The Premium Royal Galbi is another dish I recommend and is worth every penny of yours. This crowd-pleaser boasts a higher quality of meat that easily absorbs flavour from the grill and the marinade.

What to order: Beef Tongue, Royal Pork Galbi, Premium Royal Galbi

3. Sooda Korean BBQ

Located near the Brentwood station, this place is always crowded, but who can resist its impeccable Korean flavours?!

Although it’s crowded, the private booths ensure an excellent dining experience. In addition, the place is pretty cool, with neon lights decorations and a comic-esque menu.

Speaking of the menu, their Bulgogi Sooda Special is my favourite! It’s basically a gigantic square pan served with some corn, rice, lettuce and meat. This item is perfect to share amongst 2 or 3 people.

Equally impressive is the Dakgalbi, a wonderful platter of all the variety of meat that you could possibly think of! The taste and presentation are both top-notch.

If you like seafood, I suggest you try their Seafood Pancake, which is crunchy and is topped with some crab meat. This will surely leave you drooling!

What to order: Bulgogi Sooda Special, Dakgalbi, Seafood Pancake

Address:
-4455 Lougheed Hwy., Burnaby, BC

Mr. Bro is an Izakaya-style restaurant that will give you a fresh take on Korean BBQ. The brother duo has left no stone unturned which is why it has also found a place in our list of best Richmond Korean restaurants.

Their interior is modern with drawings and Korean writings decorating the walls. When it comes to sharing and homemade family-style Korean dishes, Mr. Bro has it all on their menu.

That is why I find it the perfect place to go with your family or a group of friends.

The Grilled Spare ribs should definitely be on your order list. The taste is just right and light.

Also consider getting the Bulgogi Beef Hot Stone Bibimbap. You will surely appreciate its tenderness.

If you’re craving chicken, the Deep-fried spicy chicken with Mozza Cheese is phenomenal. You might want to get extras for these!

And for the seafood lovers, I recommend the Deep-fried Squid, the quantity of which will totally surprise you.

What to order: Grilled Spareribs, Bulgogi Beef Hot Stone Bibimbap, Deep-fried Spicy Chicken with Mozza Cheese, Deep-fried Squid

5. Tå Bom Korean Cuisine

Ta Bom Korean Cuisine is known for their unique hot plates made with the fusion of Western and East-Asian styles. Longtime locals will remember this spot as Norbu but with its name change, so did its food.

What hasn’t changed is it is a popular destination on weekends and has a casual yet upbeat ambiance. So remember to book ahead to get a table easily as it can get crowded!

Highly recommend the Dak-galbi! It is a stir-fried spicy chicken served on a hot plate.

What’s interesting about their hot plates is that they come with cheese, corn, and egg where you can watch the cheese turn into gooey goodness!

If you don’t feel like having chicken, then Bulgogi is the dish for you. At the same time, their Samgyeopsal or Pork Belly is some of the best in town if you want to grill some meat.

Add in a pitcher of beer or glasses of soju and you’re set!

What to order: Dak-galbi, Bulgogi, Samgyeopsal

6. Dolpan Seoul BBQ

Situated inside Continental Shopping Centre, Dolpan Seoul BBQ is the ideal spot for authentic Korean Family-style BBQ, and that is why it’s listed as one of the best Korean restaurants in Richmond.

A warm and welcoming vibe envelops the restaurant, complemented by soft music in the background. Did you know? You can opt to have your food grilled by them!

The menu at Dolpan has a variety of Korean food from hot plates, to stews, but what stands out is definitely their BBQ.

If it’s your first time here, the Pork Belly and Pork Collar are my personal picks! They are perfectly seasoned and don’t overpower the meat’s natural sweetness.

Don’t miss out on the Korean BBQ classic side dish – Spicy Rice Cakes! These rice cakes not only add a fiery kick to your BBQ experience but also provide a satisfying balance to the savoury meat.

7. ARISU Authentic Korean BBQ

Located in the city of Burnaby, ARISU is a hip place that has a modern interior with tables having mini tv’s and call buttons.

With two locations to choose from, it’s clear that ARISU is well-loved by locals in the area. The one at Edmonds Street, while slightly smaller, has the same casual yet intimate atmosphere.

My best advice is to book a reservation in advance as it can get quite busy especially during dinner time.

Their incredible Beef Bulgogi hits all the right spots and will be the sole reason for you to come back to this place again and again.

If you’re looking for pork options, the Spicy Pork will provide you with the perfect umami heaven. Just one bite of this will make you fall in love.

Try putting Kimchi on your Korean BBQ lettuce wrap. Sweet and a bit spicy, it’s perfectly made just the way I like it!

What to order: Beef Bulgogi, Spicy Pork, Kimchi

Address:
-4501 North Rd #203, Burnaby, BC V3N 4R7

8. Royal Seoul House Restaurant

At West Broadway is Royal Seoul who consistently delivers authentic and traditional Korean food for two decades to its customers and continues to do so.

Like its name, the place is decked out like a traditional Korean house with private rooms and tiled roofs. On each table, you’ll find a grill in the middle for the BBQ action.

The menu has something for everyone. So if you are confused with the variety of dishes, I recommend you try out their BBQ Combos.

They have plenty of options, but my favourite is the BBQ Combo B, as it has beef and is so tender that it literally melts in your mouth.

Also, the chicken wings served over here are worth trying out with three different flavours to choose from but my top pick is the sweet and spicy one.

What to order: BBQ combo B, Chicken Wings (Sweet and Spicy)

Address: 1215 W Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6H 1G7, Canada

9. Dae Bak Bon Ga

Having been established for more than fifteen years on Robson Street, Dae Bak Bon Ga is definitely one of those restaurants that everyone has probably set foot in.

Don’t let the old building’s appearance fool you as it is quite spacious and you can even step into their Karaoke rooms to sing the night away!

If you’re extra hungry, get the most out of your experience by going for their All You Can Eat option.

With an affordable menu, you get an awful lot of varieties of meat that are fresh and tender.

Perfect for your BBQ meal, the Steamed Egg is a comforting and savoury dish that you absolutely must try. Its simplicity pairs wonderfully with the bold flavours of BBQ, creating a subtle and soothing contrast to the sizzle of the grill.

What to order: All You Can Eat, Steamed Egg, Deep Fried Dumplings

Address: 201-1323 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 1C6, Canada

10. Chosun BBQ

Chosun Korean BBQ is an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy Korean BBQ in an intimate and comforting atmosphere.

With dimmed lighting, wooden accents, and partitions separating diners, it is the perfect place to have a date or catch up with friends.

Known for serving Korean BBQ in Kingsway for several years, Chosun Korean BBQ recently added a new location at Jervis and the quality of their food did not diminish.

Especially their massive BBQ combos that are enough for 2-4 people.

I highly recommend the Bulgogi Combo if you want some delicious marinated meat! It has 4 kinds of meat, three 3 of which are beef, spicy pork bulgogi, and chicken bulgogi.

Also, consider getting the Beef & Pork Combo for those who want their BBQ to taste more smoky and natural.

What to order: Bulgogi Combo, Beef & Pork Combo, Cold Noodle Soup

-3486 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC V5R 5L6

How We Create Our “Best” Lists

All Noms Magazine’s “best” lists are created using multiple factors and signals to help readers find the best restaurants, things to do, and places to stay at. Some of these factors and signs include personal experiences, correspondence with locals, and compiling experiences from review sites.

Each list is also created to be balanced (in terms of price, cuisine type, ambiance, and more) as possible. This means that the lists are not specifically created in ranking order. You should be comfortable picking from any of the spots on the list and generally have a good time. But of course, YMMV (your mileage may vary) and everyone may have different experiences/palates.
