After a bit of a wait, Richmond locals can now get their hands on some of the most famous fried chicken from the Philippines.
Max’s To Go has officially opened inside Aberdeen Centre’s busy food court, marking the first time the brand’s “To Go” concept has landed in Canada.

We previously reported spotting the signage earlier this year, confirming that the iconic Filipino chain was preparing to take over the former Potato Corner space.
The opening was slightly delayed, but fans can now finally enjoy the brand’s signature comfort food once again.
The stall brings a simplified, takeout-style version of the beloved Max’s Restaurant menu, perfect for quick meals or lunch breaks at the mall.

You can expect all the classics, including their world-famous fried chicken, crispy pork dishes, and an assortment of Filipino favorites like lumpia, adobo, and kare-kare.
Each combo meal comes complete with rice, soup, a drink, and a Mini Buko Pandan dessert.

Max’s first opened in Canada back in 2012 on Kingsway, introducing Metro Vancouver to its “Sarap-to-the-Bones” fried chicken, a recipe that dates back to 1945 when founder Maximo Gimenez started serving American soldiers at his home in Quezon City.
That small cafe evolved into one of the Philippines’ most recognized restaurant brands, now boasting over 180 locations worldwide.
The new stall continues that legacy in a modern, fast-paced format designed for easy dining on the go.
On Instagram, Max’s Vancouver announced, “The wait is finally over — Max’s To Go is NOW OPEN at Aberdeen Mall Centre!” inviting fans to celebrate with their signature fried chicken and hearty meals.

For those who grew up on Max’s or have been missing authentic Filipino comfort food, this new outpost is a welcome addition to Richmond’s already vibrant food scene.
Max’s To Go now joins a growing lineup of new openings in Richmond like Prunus, Momo Tanghulu, and Don Noodle.
