Vancouver fish and chips fans will be happy about this news!
Cockney Kings Fish and Chips has quietly opened the doors to their new Main Street location, and most people do not even know about it yet.
If you remember, we previously reported in September that Cockney Kings signage had been spotted on Main Street, and now the wait is officially over.
We walked by the new Main Street on February 8 and found the shop open and already serving customers with no formal announcement.

The new spot sits right beside the Shameful Tiki Room in the Riley Park neighbourhood.
It marks the fourth location for the family-owned chain, which has been serving Metro Vancouver since 1965.
If you are hoping for the famous all-you-can-eat deal, there is a catch.
This location doesn’t seem to offer it based on the menu.
The AYCE option, for unlimited pollock and chips, is only available at the Burnaby and New Westminster locations.
This means both Vancouver spots are cut from that deal.
The Main Street shop is a compact, counter-service spot with a snug layout with around a dozen seats total.

The definition of “Cockney” is written across the back wall, keeping with the brand’s British theme.
It was already busy when we stopped in, with a steady stream of customers lining up at the counter.
The menu covers all the Cockney Kings staples, including fish and chips, fish burgers, fish tacos, and British classics like steak pie, mushy peas, and curry sauce.

Family packs are also available for larger groups.
You can choose from cod, snapper, haddock, salmon, and halibut, with options to have your fish battered and deep fried, floured and deep fried, grilled with lemon pepper, or steamed.
One thing worth noting is that Cockney Kings proudly fries everything in beef tallow.

If you have never had fish and chips fried in tallow, it is the traditional British way of doing it and gives the batter a crispier, richer texture compared to vegetable oil.
According to the sign on the front door, the shop is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
This is the brand’s second Vancouver location after their Kitsilano outpost on Cornwall Avenue, which opened in 2023.
Cockney Kings Main Street now joins other recently opened food spots in Vancouver like UCHU, Nine Bar Coffee, and Tayybeh.
