Spotted: A Global Ice Cream Chain Is Opening in Lansdowne Centre (Despite the Redevelopment Plans)

You would think that with all the news swirling around Lansdowne Centre’s massive upcoming redevelopment, new tenants would be hesitant to move in.

But strangely enough, the mall is seeing a mini-resurgence.

Just this month, we saw the arrival of Cotti Coffee, and now it looks like another global heavyweight is setting up shop.

We just spotted huge new signage wrapped around the corner unit that used to house Express Lane Post Office, right across from the mall T&T Supermarket entrance.

The cheeky signage reads “Made you look” and features the unmistakable branding of Baskin Robbins.

It confirms that the world’s most famous “31 Flavours” are coming to the mall.

This marks a quick expansion for the brand in Richmond.

After being absent for a while, Baskin Robbins made its return to the city late last year with a location at Ironwood Plaza.

This Lansdowne outpost will be their second spot in town, doubling down on the demand for classic hard-scoop ice cream.

For those who need a refresher, Baskin Robbins was founded back in 1945 and built its empire on the idea that dessert should be fun (hence the pink spoons).

Fans can likely expect the usual heavy hitters like Pralines ‘n Cream, Jamoca Almond Fudge, and Chocolate Mousse Royale, along with their signature ice cream cakes and shakes.

While Baskin Robbins is a win for the mall, there has been some turnover elsewhere.

The Villa Vietnamese stall in the food court recently shut down, with rumours swirling that a new Hong Kong-style cafe will be taking over the space.

Baskin Robbins joins a growing list of upcoming food spots to watch in Richmond, including Horin Ramen, Breka Bakery at RC, and Pho Capital.
